NMN provides and supports a robust health information technology system that includes:

- Technical resources, support and maintenance for an electronic dental record system, including an interface application to the Centricity Practice Management System
- Complete electronic dental imaging system with state-of-the-art oral sensors

- Community Health Center software applications to meet specific federal and state data collection requirements
- Standards-based, reliable and secure system with 24 x 7 coverage, back-up and disaster support
The cornerstone of this system is GE Healthcare Centricity Practice Solution EHR 2006 v 9.5 and Dentrix Enterprise 5.0 with Dexis Imaging System 5.0 operating from a centralized platform in a Citrix environment.
Applications to Optimize Operations
NMN offers additional applications that enhance provider capacity to optimize patient care. These include:
- Centricity Clinical Content software that provides expanded data collection capabilities for chronic disease identification and management
- Expanded reporting capabilities to create reports for the federal Universal Data System, a requirement for all Network members, the CMS Meaningful Use Incentive Program, and state-wide programs such as Minnesota Community Measures Program
- Quality Improvement Programs with procedures targeted for measuring and improving clinical outcomes and operational efficiencies
- Quarterly Quality Improvement meetings open to all clinical electronic health record team leads
- Laboratory interface technology for electronic ordering and transmission of test results with the Meditech Hospital Information System
- Laboratory interface technology for electronic transmission of test results with the Quest Diagnostics Laboratory System
- Voice recognition software to expedite provider chart notes and summaries
- Electronic faxing application enables health center members to transmit documents to pharmacies, external clinics, hospitals, and specialty providers in a secure, safe environment
- Sure Scripts advanced e-prescribing software system to electronically transmit prescriptions to pharmacies while performing drug interactions automatically
Network Infrastructure
We support a wide-area network (WAN) that is standards-based, robust, reliable and secure. The technical configuration operates in a Citrix environment from a centralized location in Duluth, Minnesota.
The infrastructure that sustains all our electronic health record systems also supports quality improvement projects. It enables timely access to demographic and medical data, the ability to benchmark among the centers and develop best practices to improve quality and health outcomes for patients.
This includes expanded data collection procedures for baseline measurements, standardizing common workflows, and expanding the Network clinical quality improvement system to focus on managing health care more effectively and improving patient outcomes.
